Yes stop giving excuses..
Act 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Act 9:37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
Act 9:38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
Act 9:39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
Act 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Act 9:41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Recently I was thinking about you , our Church the House of Praise and the vision God has given to us.
I thought about this year 2012 coming to an end. I asked myself these questions.
What have we accomplished this year?
How many lives have we impacted?
Are we really serving God to our maximum capacity?
I got some answers but not totally satisfied.
How about you?
Rick Warren said " Service is the great pathway to Significance"
You are going to give your life for something but what will it be?
For Some, it will be or sports, beer, fame, money , career But none of these will have lasting significance.
Service is the real pathway to significance. It is through ministry of serving others that we discover the meaning of our lives!
God wants to use you to make a difference in our world.
This Sunday, the opportunity will be given unto us to impact others.
What matter is not the duration of your life but the donation of it. Not how long you lived but how you lived.
I was told one of our ex member died few days ago. What came to my mind was her service, humility and servant spirit. Not her bank balance !
I know we have so many excuses for not been involved in any service or ministry.
What excuse have you been using?
*****************All the people that God had used had plenty of excuses. e.g
Abraham was old, Jacob was insecure,
Leah was not unattractive, Joseph was abused,
Moses was a stuttered, Gideon was poor,
Samson was codependent, rehab was immoral,
David had an affair and all kinds of family problems, Elijah was suicidal, Jeremiah was depressed,
Jonah was reluctant, Naomi was a widow, John the Baptist was hot tempered, Martha worried a lot, the Samaritan woman had several failed marriages, zacheus was not popular, Thomas had doubts, Paul had poor health, and Timothy was quite timid and remember Joshua lacked courage.
That is quite a variety of misfits, but God used each one of them in his service.
God will use you too, if you stop making excuses.
I want you to look up Eph 2:10 in your bible and see what God has in mind for you and your destiny.
This is amplified version. Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
I wish you a merry Christmas in advance and this is the season to be generous in love and action.
P.s watch out for the move of God in the area of food distributions and feeding of 1000 mouths in our church.
P.P.s watch out for confidential prayer line (Telephone) in the new Year.
I am praying for you and your family.
Write me and share your testimonies and Praise reports. Thank You.
Increase, Peace and Joy begins with me
Psalms 16:8
I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
